Class Descriptions:

Vinyasa Flow

Vinyasa literally means breath-synchronized movement.  Vinyasa Flow is an invigorating practice where you move through poses with your breath as your guide.

Combined Levels are there for those that fall under either of the listed levels (ie, Beginner/Intermediate).  These classes are lead for both levels with options to go deeper but opportunities to rest and reserve energy.  In all levels I strive to give you a strong awareness of your body and its connection to your mind bringing you to the simple and beautiful benefits of yoga.

The Beginner Level is for those new to yoga who wish to develop the fundamentals of the poses and a better understanding of yoga's possibilities.  We will discover the meaning "vinyasa" (breath synchronized movement) using our bodies and breath.  Introducing pranayama (breath work) will help to connect you to the yoga (uniting the body with the mind).  The pace is moderate but you can expect to be challenged.  We will work with both standing and seated poses to leave you feeling balanced.
The Intermediate Level is for those who are ready to take their practice to the next level.  We will begin to explore more challenging poses and more subtle techniques of yoga.  Linking the movement from pose to pose with the breath builds internal heat as well as develops strength and flexibility.  In these classes you will find unique and creative standing sequences using fundamental standing poses, arm balancing and inversions.
The Advanced Level is for those seasoned in yoga.  We will work with deeper types of pranayama and more advanced variations of standing poses as well as inversions and arm balances.  Their will be many opportunities to "go deeper" but remember to listen to your internal voice, it is not always best to do it because you can.

Prenatal Yoga

The highlight of my teaching career came in 2008 while teaching prenatal yoga during my own pregnancy.   I have studied prenatal yoga extensively since my training at Moksha Yoga Center and have a profound appreciation for this truly divine process.  In my prenatal classes you will learn tools that will be useful during both pregnancy and labor. Please click here for more information on the many benefits of Prenatal Yoga.
